In this project, we intend to harness three-body interactions. In particular, we intend to decouple the formation of Efimov trimers, resulting from three-body interactions at long distances, from three-body losses occurring at short relative distances. We will then study the interaction mechanisms between these trimers and their implications to novel many-body phases.
The experiment relies on the preparation of two Dysprosium layers (two-dimensional systems) interacting via a three-dimensional gas of Potassium.
